This loco was built in 4/1953 with EMD serial number 18218. She was built as a freight road switcher, model GP7 with a high short hood and no dynamic brakes.

She was retired, sold to ICG, rebuilt by Paducah Shops to a GP10 and became ICG 8237 in 2/1974.

She became PAL 8237.
