This loco was built in 8/1951 with EMD serial number 14714. She was built as a freight road switcher, model GP7 with a high short hood and no dynamic brakes.

She was retired, sold to ICG, rebuilt by Paducah Shops to a GP8 and became ICG 7982 in 12/1972.

She was re-rebuilt by ICG (presumably due to wreck damage) and became ICG 7900 in 6/1977.
