These 2-bay, 100-ton covered hoppers were built by AC&F in 7/1974. They featured round hatches, gravity-pneumatic outlets and 2971 ft3 capacity. They are the CF2971 variant built only in 1974-75. They feature 2970 ft3 capacity, but are physically longer and shorter than cars built before or after as per the following:
