This loco was built in 9/1984 with EMD serial number 847022-17. She was built as a freight engine, model SD50. She was painted in standard for the time black paint with xxxx herald and featured a full a sealed beam headlight and nose-mounted gyralight on the front end and a sealed beam headlight on the rear end.

This order was added to an in-production order of SD50's for CSX and thus featured specifications of that road including frame mounted bell and slotted battery box. They were delivered without gyralights, but we added on, apparently by the Rio Grande, shortly after delivery.

She was one of at least 7 D&RGW SD50's repainted into SP's scarlet and grey bloody nose scheme with SP Speed Lettering.
