This loco was built in 5/1990 with EMD serial number 896043-3. She was built as a freight roadswitcher. She was painted in standard for the time black paint with large herald and featured a full a sealed beam headlight on the front and rear end.

She was repainted and renumbered to UP 5702 on 05/14/1998 and became UP 1902 (via patch) on 01/23/2002.
