These 41'-0", 50 ton, gondolas were built by AC&F in 1912-1913. They featured compositie construction and 1628 ft3 capacity. These cars were fodder for many rebuildings and renumberings over the years.
A group of 2500 of the original 2800 cars were rebuilt to a side dump configuration prior to 1940 to a 40'-9", 55 ton, 1850 ft3 capacity configuration. They remained composite cars at this point. C&EI Oaklawn Shops further rebuilt them to all-steel bodies in 1941-1950.
