C&EI 16000-16299						(to MP 16000-16299; to UP 9*****-9*****)						

These 100 ton ballast hopper cars were built by Bethlehem Steel Corp. (Lot 3400-287) in 10/1972. They featured 2200 ft3 capacity.

These cars were remarked with MP reporting marks as the C&EI was absorbed into the MP. After the MP was absorbed into the UP, many of these cars were placed into various UP 9***** number groups mixed with cars from other backgrounds.
