A&WP GP16
This page is dedicated to A&WP's fleet of rebuilt GP16 roadswitchers. The SCL began a program to rebuild GP7, 9 & 18 units into what they called a GP16. Most of the program released locos with SCL reporting marks, except the first few which were rebuilt by ICG at their Paducah, KY shops and released with CRR reporting marks. When the Seaboard System merger came along, five more units were released with SBD reporting marks and the last five with either A&WP, GA or WofA reporting marks. All units were eventually remarked with SBD and later CSXT reporting makrs.
