The Baldwin Locomotive Works Locos Page:

Welcome to the Baldwin Locomotive Works Locos Page. Baldwin was a manufacturer of steam locomotives and later of diesel locomotives. As with other builders, they would build demonstrator locomotives to show to prospective buyers. They also built a few switchers for their own in-plant use. These locomotives are covered here. As far as I know, they were not issued formal reporting marks for their locos. So, I will use (BLW) to denote their locos with the parentheses used to donote that these are unofficial initials used here for clarification only.

They appear to have been assigned the reporting marks BLHX around 1954, just after their merger with Lima forming Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton, but it appears that they existed the locomotive building business around that time.
