Welcome to the Avondale Shipyard Freight Cars Page. Avondale operated a shipyard along the Mississippi River adjacent to the Missouri Pacific (ex Texas & Pacific) railroad yard in Avondale, LA. As a course of its business, Avondale received many car loads of a variety of materials (plate steel, piping, structural beams) and appliances such as pre-fabricated guns for military ships. They also operated a fleet of their own freight cars with ASYX reporting marks.
