Session Recap:
May 22, 2004:
This session was plagued by a mystery short in the loop which forced us to delay quite a few trains, although most trains did run with a few ending up out on the railroad, most notably the East and West Pickups. The Frasier Rock Turn was not run this session, but then again it was not run all the time by the C&O. There was quite a bit of discussion about the volume of traffic coming off of the Greenbriar Sub. It seems the yard at Ronceverte was FULL. This caused problems with the train making its connection with the East Pickup. The locals were both running over twenty cars when they reached their destinations. It seemed strange to see a single Mike hualing more cars than a single Alleghany! Bill Williams will cut down on the number of cars being handled by the local and Greenbriar trains. We may also start working the Hot Springs branch as a true mixed with the addition of one or two freight cars to the small passenger train.
