It is a chop-nosed GP10, originally built as GP9 IC 9099 in Mar 1955 with frame number 5378-32. It was rebuilt by the ICG at their Paducah, KY shops with a new low nose as ICG 8446 in Mar 1974. It was sold to Mountain Laurel Railroad as their MNL 16 in xxx 19xx. It came to L&D in Jan 1997 and was assigned number LDRR 1853, however, it was not physically renumbered on the locomotive while in service for L&D. It left the L&D in April 2006 lettered Little Rock & Western (LRWN.) It was later observed switching at the Eastman Chemical plant in Kingsport, TN in Aug 2007.
