LDRR 1852

Louisiana & Delta locomotive 1852 is a chop-nosed GP10, originally built as GP9 IC 9092 in Mar 1955 with frame number 5378-25. It was rebuilt by the ICG at their Paducah, KY shops with a new low nose as ICG 8061 in Feb 1975. It was sold to Mountain Laurel Railroad as their MNL 14 in Feb 1992. It came to L&D in Jan 1997 and was assigned number LDRR 1852, however, it was not physically renumbered on the locomotive unit around Feb 2006. At this time, the reporting marks LDRR and the new number were applied to the cab, but the Mountain Luarel paint and spelled out name were retained. She went through a rebuilding in 2011 and worked in Florida and Georgia for shakedown runs afterwards. She came home to the L&D in the fall of 2012 in new paint.
