LDRR 1851

Louisiana & Delta locomotive 1851 is a chop-nosed GP10, originally built as GP9 IC 9061 in Dec 1954 with frame number 5359-14. It was rebuilt by the ICG at their Paducah, KY shops with a new low nose as ICG 8119 in Feb 1975. It was sold to Mountain Laurel Railroad as their MNL 13 in Feb 1992. It came to L&D in Jan 1997 and was assigned number LDRR 1851, however, it was not physically renumbered on the locomotive unit Feb 2006. At this time, the reporting marks LDRR and the new number were applied to the cab, but the Mountain Luarel paint and spelled out name were retained. This unit was sent to G & W shops in Panama City for a rebuild to GP10-1 and renumber to LDRR 1709.
