Louisiana & Delta locomotive 1201 is an EMD cab end switcher model SW1200, originally built as SP 1598 in Dec 1964 with frame number 4469-2. It was renumbered SP 2263 in SP's 1965-66 system-wide locomotive renumbering program. It was never rebuilt by the SP. It came to L&D in Mar 1987 and was assigned number LDRR 1201. At one time, it carried the name "Avery Island" on its cab. The name was removed and and the loco was re-assigned to G&W's Rochester & Southern as their engine 108 in 1988. When it came to the L&D, it still had its full SP light package at each end and large hood-mounted number boards. The number boards were removed and scrapped prior to its leaving the L&D.
