American Car & Foundry's original design of the Center Flow covered hopper was to the cylindrical design. Only one design of 4-bay car was ever produced with only 12 examples. The CF3950 was the very first Center Flow car ever produced. They are often misidentified as 8-bay cars, but they actually have two outlets per bay.
